on remittances if you are tax resident (>180 days in a tax year) which is Jan to Dec. A DTA with you home country will offset against any tax due provided you file there, US , UK , AU and many others have DTA but you still need to file a tax return. Many will ignore but taxman never goes away if in doubt check with you pr local tax office
If you are here more than more than 180 days in a tax year - Jan-Dec you are tax resident - either avoid that or talk to an accountant they can provide guidance on how to minimize exposure. Remittances are now subject to Thai income tax.
would still talk to an accountant, I also bring in my UK pension along with my wife’s from Singapore, and I have discussed with accountant and local tax office and they have advised me to file a return , and any tax due on remittances will be offset by a credit for tax paid in UK and SIN under DTA’s with both countries - I can’t afford to fall foul of tax man, he never goes away and I have too much invested here with our own property and two dogs……it will only be a problem for many if they link tax to visa renewal then the brown stuff hits the fan and agents get rich - good luck.
It’s already a requirement to file a tax return for 2024 before end Mar 2025, tax laws in Thailand have been in place for many years, the requirement to pay tax on remittances was an adjustment to tax rules…..suggest you talk to an accountant, they not
