Most banks require a residence certificate. Just opened a second account and that was one of the documents they wanted. First account a few years ago was a lot easier.

Once you are here on the correct visa. You lease a house ( lease is in both Thai and English mostly?and then go to emigration for your residence certificate. That is the most important document to get most services, buying a car, opening a bank account etc.

I will use an example to give you an idea. I do beading as a hobby and when we gave the description and quantity I made a rough guess that I have around 5000 beads. Discription read Beads assorted and quantity 5000.
