Can I enter Thailand on a one-way flight ticket and book a return flight later?

Technically you are supposed to have an onward ticket within the 60 days. Immigration rarely check, but if course they are at liberty to do so.

More frequently, your airline asks for proof. 3 out of my last 4 trips I had to show an exit ticket. So, basically it’s a gamble.

Technically you do need an exit ticket, but not a return, if you enter as a tourist.

This is rarely checked by immigration but frequently by the airline that’s taking you to Thailand.

There is no 90 day tourist visa. Depending on nationality you may be qualify for a 60 day visa exemption.
