TLDR : Answer Summary
As a UK citizen traveling to Thailand for 30 days from April 25 to May 25, 2025, you do not need a visa. Currently, the visa exemption allows UK tourists to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without needing a visa. Ensure to get your passport stamped upon arrival. However, there may be an electronic travel authorization (ETA) requirement starting from May 1, 2025, so confirm any updates before your trip.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

I’ve recently travelled from the UK to Bangkok. My passport was stamped 60 days. I understand from May 1, you have to fill in an online form before you travel.

Those who say you do, probably never went to Thailand.

I never heard of a time when you needed a visa to stay 30 days.

For now you get your passport stamped for 60 days on arrival, may change in future but for now 60 for UK Citizens 🇹🇭🇹🇭

As others have mentioned, you do not need a visa. That aside, to avoid mis-counting causing you a potential overstay if you decide to stay longer, 25 Apr to 25 May is 31 days (inclusive), not 30 days. Happy trails.

@Mike ******
faux ça fait bien 30 jours car ça compte à partir du jour où t'arrive et en principe on arrive toujours en Thaïlande le lendemain du départ lol 😅
Jim ********
@Mike ******
well he will get 60 days anyway so unless he stays another month there’s no chance of overstaying

Never in doubt. As stated, I clarified the way days are counted so he doesn’t inadvertently prolong to 61 days (while believing it is 60 days).

But all visitors now need to fill in online a visitors card, correct ?

John, Do u know when it's going back to 30 days. I do wish they would stop messing about with this. 30, 45,60.

I totally agree with you, it’s a whirlwind of confusion .

I’ve been going for 15 years , it was tourist exemption on entry for 30 days. You could then leave the country on your 29th day return after being elsewhere & get another 30 days ‘tourist exempt,’

Then it was changed to 60 days , Tourist exempt & still is.

But they are still considering reverting back to tourist exempt for a 30 day stay.

This is what I understand, at the moment, together with the ‘on line’ form’ to be submitted 72 hours prior to arrival, so I understand.

Hope I’ve given the correct information.

I'm sure it's coming up soon. I've had a retirement visa for three years but I'm back in the UK until at least August. Two months after it's up for renewal. 😕
Jim ********
@Gary *******
Ditch the retirement visa and get the DTV
Doug *******
@Jim *******
Please elaborate. I’m about to get a retirement visa (extension of stay).

from May 1st. Back to form filling

Everyone must do the TDAC starting May 1st.

Whoever said you do is wrong.

Visa exempt for 60 days.

Chill & have a great time 👍🍺❤️🇹🇭

Who is the "some says you do?"

Even when visa exempt was only 30 days, you still wouldn't have needed a visa. Right now it's 60 days. No one should ever have said you needed a visa.

You do not need a visa.
