Better to exit and start over fresh, big advantage is that the funds can be in your home country bank. Anything u apply for in country has to be in a Thai bank.
my feeling is that they only care about your immigration status, if you've got a visa or visa exempt then they don't care how or when you get back home. They're only concern is not having to repatriate you if you're turned away or deported.
at the airport immigration office, not cheap, single entry is around 1200, multiple entry 4000. A better plan might be to settle your 1 year Non O extension first and include multiple entry. Then you're free to go when and where you please, and have everything done in one shot.
It's a crap shoot, I've gotten 3 of those same 90 day visas from the consulate in LA and the approval times were 6 days, 14 days and 2 days (working days). No explanation given. But it shouldn't take longer than 14 working days. I think that's they're time limit unless they notify you or ask for additional info.
Yes, it asks for both arrival and departure flight info and dates, and the address or hotel in Thailand, but no proof is required. You need one bank statement showing proof of enough funds to finance the 90 day stay, and another document proving your resident/home address in the USA. Copy of your passport bio page and a digital photo. Approval time depends on how busy they are, 14 working days at most.
ok...but regardless it's kinda pointless, if that's what you intended why not just get it before you leave and save the hassle. Then only have to go once to extend for a full year.
