The school must be legally registered, and approved by the ministry of education. The problems with different Thai embassies on what they approve is not so much the school, although they must be licensed with the ministry of education, it is the length of time you sign up for. Most are now wanting at least a 30 day program at a minimum. As they see the abuse growing this time frame increases.

Most likely he got caught selling, not just using, and why the blacklisting. That will be very difficult, and expensive, to remedy.

You are aware you can apply for SS at the US embassy in Manila in the Philippines. They handle all social security issues, including new applications, for most of South East Asia including Thailand. You can also file your taxes from Thailand.

the basics is that the school must be registered with the ministry of education as being legitimate. Just being a legal business does not mean they are registered with the ministry of education.

you've got the right idea, just the wrong terminology. You get a copy of the TM30 from your hotel in order to show, and get your residency certificate mailed from immigration.

There is no visa type requirements anymore for a residency certificate, just that the correct TM30 has been filed for where you live, and it is in the same district you are applying in. Take a copy of your current TM30 to the local immigration office, and they will mail the residency certificate to you after you apply.

After getting your marriage certificate translated, it has to be certified as being an accurate translation by the ministry of foreign affairs. Then you take it to your local amphur/district office to be registered.

It does not make it any easier getting a visa to the US by being in the UK instead of in Thailand. It can still take over a year to get.
