 It's only visa exempt land border entries that are limited to 2 per calendar year. With a visa there's no legal limit

Carsten von Holdt It needs to be an International transfer for the initial visa. Doesn't need to be an International transfer for the 1 year extention of stay

 He'll need a Thai bank account with 800k for the Non Imm O in Thailand. Much easier to get the visa in his home Country.
