Why not get the Non Imm O visa before you come rather than the Tourist visa?

So much easier.

90 days visa and 60 days extention is the max without marriage or court approval. You are correct that you used to be able to get a multi-entry Non Imm O but that hasn't been issued for a half Thai child for quite a few years now.

You can get a single entry Non imm O visa based on having a Thai child with just your name on the childs birth certificate, no need to be married or have gone through the courts.

20k is very reasonable, you'd be lucky to get a few hours with a lawyer for that in the UK, let alone go to Court.

The 60 days extention IS available if your name is on the childs birth certificate even if you're not married or haven't been through the court process. It's only for the 1 year extention that you need to go through court.
