Hi curious on benefits of the 800,000 deposit Vs 65,000 bht per month 🤔

Given you get little to no interest while the money is tied up compared to 7-8% ( what I currently get in my Aus Super investments ) why would you put that much in a Thai account rather that transfer the 65,000 p/m ?

Is there an advantage ? ( keen to learn )

Quick question, when you deposit the 800,000 into a Thai bank account do you have to prove it came from overseas like the monthly method or not

Hi guys.👋

So I’ve booked a one way ticket to Phuket late April. I’m well travelled and have been to SE Asia many times.

Planning on a retirement one year visa initially and may buy/start a business there.

So the process order is.

- find accommodation and get TM30

- arrange bank account and deposit 800,000bth

- apply for retirement visa

- this deposit has to be in for 2 months before I can apply.. yes?

- organise health insurance for $100,000us

Therefore as I have 60 days (I’m a kiwi coming for retirement visa, not elite) I have to a boarder run to get another 60 days until my deposit is recognised.

I’m I correct on the methodology ?

Getting a Thai drivers licence will be easy.

Cheers

I'm getting to the age where I really don't want to be doing visa runs and border bounces. Planning to enter Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa. 1, Open bank account and transfer 800,000 2, Find Somewhere to live, that will lodge a TM30. 3, Apply for a non immigrant O, 90 day (retirement) visa. 4, Extending it for 12 months. 5, Certificate of residence. 6, Purchase long term Insurance. I'm not sure about the timeframe to start the process considering I will have a 60 day tourist visa. Any input would be appreciated.

Hello,

I have one question about the retirement visa. Could you please confirm that the only rule to deposit 800.000 thb is to come from a bank account abroad? The foreign account from which the money comes must have the same name as the Thai account or, for example, the spouse can transfer money on it ? Thanks a lot.
