Hi John I'm in Cambodia as well, are you on a work visa here as well? Did the PP Thai consulate ask for your PP employment contract before you can apply for DTV here?

you need to stop taking everything they say so literally here. A 1-year Non-ED is also a "long-term" visa however I know so many people still faced difficulties getting in in the last few years as certain nationalities started abusing it, circumstances can change, nothing is black and white, and not everything is done by the book in developing countries.
In theory yes, I’m hopeful but I’ve heard plenty of peopel had a hard time with immigration with METV, but like you said this is not a TV so maybe things will change.
Im guessing its going to be like visa runs with tourist visa, you can come back even after 1 day, but Thai immigration at airport are going to scrutinize you or deny your entry if you do it too often?
