you have more freedom in Thailand than in the west 😂 yeah a bit less safe on the roads but I feel far less safe walking through London than Bangkok at night.

It’s ridiculous to even say something like this. Why does Thailand need to adhere to Western values? Thailand has a great culture and many amazing people. Yes, the driving could be a bit more organised and safe but it’s been this way forever. People drive fast because they have money to make. But yes, Malaysia is more developed in some ways.

on paper you need to renounce your original citizenship but I’ve heard that’s not really enforced and you can remain a dual citizen. That said, Thailand takes many many years to be eligible for citizenship and you need to be a resident for 5 years, and be proficient in speaking and writing Thai.
