if you want long term stay in Thailand, you need long term visa. Your do not qualify for extension of visa based on retirement. You need either education or find a Thai employer to sponsor you

You are technically not retired. You are just choosing not work. You are separated from military due to medical issues. Those realities don’t qualify for any visa outside tourist visa or elite visa. Maybe get an education visa or find a job in Thailand
