those who apply at the Thai Embassy or consulate for the special entry permission, ALL except Thai nationals need to show the insurance, a fit-to-fly certificate and a test result for Covid19 not older than 72 hours . . .source PattayaMail: "A spokesperson for Thailand Privilege Card said, “We are very pleased that current elite visa holders may be given preference as Thailand begins to allow foreigners back.” However, they will still be subject to pre and post coronavirus tests and certification, compulsory 14-days quarantine in a government facility and comprehensive medical insurance worth at least US$100,000"
yes I too noticed it doesn't make sense. It should just say "Foreigner who have an Elite Card". You are not allowed to work inside Thailand with the Elite visa. You can however work abroad and return on the elite visa anytime. I guess we have to wait and see how this will play out
you exchange emails with them during the application process if you do it from outside Thailand. With their email confirmation you can apply at the Thai Embassy London for the special permission to be among the group of people who are allowed to enter Thailand. Government has just announced that they EXPECT to include Elite Visa holders . . . .nothing written in stone, yet
as you totally speculate on the border runs being possible again before or by August 7, that might include the omnipresent risk you will not be allowed back. Nobody can give you a definite answer atm. what will be. So playing the safe card is, get away from Mukdahan Immigration jurisdiction, get da f..k out of Dodge, move to Pattaya or Bangkok, the 12 months bank letters which you so dedicately prepared, including your health insurance, will be accepted on their Immigration offices for an application for a year extension of stay
rent a condo in Bangkok or move into a guesthouse, move away from the jurisdiction of the Mukdahan Immigration, register with a fresh TM30 in Bangkok. Chaeng Wattana Immigration Bangkok will accept the bank letter
you cannot apply in-country from a Non-O/A to a Non-O, if this is what you were referring to. Regardless of banking 800K in your Thai bank account. The conversion does not work that way
. . .your question was about switching from Non-O/A to Non-O . . . . . well, once the borders open, you will be able to let your O/A extension become invalid leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit, and go for the Non-Imm-O visa based on being over 50. For this, there currently is no health insurance requirement. Tod Daniels has written up a special thread on how to do an in-country conversion from a tourist visa or visa exempt to a 90-days Non-O based on retirement visa
. .added: if the Non-Imm-O is not past it's validity date when you can do the next border run ! If it has already slipped past it's validity date by then, you will need to apply for a new Non-Imm-O married Multi Entry at the consulate Savanakhet (or any other embassies & consulates)
