TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a 90-day Non-O visa based on a birth certificate and is inquiring about options for a long-term extension. The primary responses indicate that the user can extend the visa for 60 days and also has the option to apply for a year extension if they have legal parental rights over a half-Thai child. This requires navigating family court if the child was born out of wedlock. The financial requirements for this extension include having 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account or proof of 12 consecutive months of transferring at least 40,000 THB from abroad. An alternative is the Thai ELITE Visa, which costs 500,000 THB for a 5-year stay.

he should have asked his question BEFORE he took the flight and paid for the hotel quarantine. Sadly, there are no other options than those already laid out

get the 60 day visit thai family extension, get an appointment at the family court to see if they will process legal parental rights that's uncontested (meaning the mother is okay with you getting it) without you two needing a lawyer and check the time frame to get it THRU the court system, That's all you can do

while he still can get the 60-day extension for visiting his half Thai child, he has the option to buy an in-country ELITE Visa for 5 years for 500,000 THB

there is no other option than what Tod Daniels has told you. Sorry if this bursts your bubble. It is 400,000 THB in your Thai bank account or the proof of 12 months consecutive transfer of minimum of 40,000 THB onto your account from abroad

OR, a third option, is an embassy letter saying that the father makes 40K THB a month :O

Most embassies have stopped issuing that letter though.

he seems to be from the U.K so no embassy letter for him

other than the 60 day visit thai family extension the only other option available is the year extension based on supporting a half thai child BUT if the child was born out of wedlock you need to go thru family court to get recognized as the father and granted parental rights legally or you can't get that extension. the financial requirements are 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only and proof you have legal parental rights
