the immigration does in fact accept income letters legalized by the German Embassy Bangkok for income proof. I know a handful of married Germans who use this letter

you don't loose any days if you apply for the 60-day family visit extension anytime in September. The 60 days will count from 27 September on. This will give you enough time to season 400.000 THB in the bank for 2 months, then apply for "1-year Extension of Stay based on marriage" . .with this Extension, no more border bounces are needed

sure they don't accept joint account unless you haven't parked 1,6 million plus in it. But they will accept two separate accounts, and they will even accept only ONE account with +800.000 THB in ONE's name, and the married partner can go "piggyback" or if you don't like to be compared with pigs, "trailing" is another valid term. one could always get a work permit, while being married to a Thai and on a Visa based on this marriage. You cannot get one if your visa/EOS is based on retirement , though
