I have just obtained a non imm o-a long stay 12 month multi entry visa here in australa.

just a couple of questions , i intend to stay couple of months at time what do I have to do when entering and leaving,do I just just come and go.

Do I have to get a re entry permit when leaving every time I leave .

If I stay 3 months do have to leave and return or do have do a 90 day report.

Can this visa be renewed in Thailand or must be done in Australia

Any other info appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a Non-OA long-stay visa, you can enter and leave Thailand multiple times during its validity. Upon returning, you do not need a re-entry permit unless your visa has expired a year after issuance. For stays exceeding 90 days cumulative, you need to file a report to immigration; however, leaving Thailand before 90 days resets this period upon re-entry. This visa cannot be renewed within Thailand; you must either leave and obtain a new visa in Australia or apply for a one-year extension in Thailand, provided you meet the financial requirements.

Although you don't have to "report" if you leave the country within the 90-day period, you must remember to file a TM30 within 24 hours of your return. If your landlord doesn't do this online, it will require a trip to your local immigration office to do it yourself, which is a "defacto" reporting anyway

once the visa is past its validity date and you are already in the second year, you do not have a multi re-entry any more . . so if you plan to exit and enter again you will need to buy a re-entry permit each time

Another point about 90 days. If you leave before 90 days then when you re-enter the 90 day clock resets and you start again at day 1.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming 😊

They will look at the stamp that shows your arrival date. You report 90 days after that.

Should I have received a 'receipt of notification' when coming back from my home country on my reentry permit? I didn't receive one and I am a little nervous about not having the paper in my passport. All I have is the reentry stamp dated July 14th, 2019.

Just go in on October 14th?

okay, you can never renew a visa so, the answer is after you wring the two years of stay out of this visa you would go back and either get another one from the consulate in Australia,

OR

You would apply for a yearly extension of stay at the immigration office inside the country by meeting the financial requirements in place at the time you apply for it.

The visa is unlimited entry/exit for it's validity (a year from the date it's issued) <-meaning you do NOT need a re-entry permit right now..

One thing, many people get stamped in wrong on an O-A visa. Make sure you get stamped in for a whole year.

A non OA visa gives you multiple entry and a stamp on each entry for 1 year. If you are in Thailand for 90 days then you need to do a report to immigration. You do not have to leave every 90 days. If you leave and come back just before the visa runs out then you will get a 2nd year out of it but you’ll need a reentry permit to keep it active.

Yes. Whilst you're within the first year of the visa it is multiple entry so no re-entry permit is required. Once you get to the second year of the visa you'd need a re-entry permit to keep your permitted to stay date active.

thanks for your reply, just to be clear if I leave before 90days return after 2 months I will be given another year and no re entry permit required
