that sounds great - did you get that in writing from them or from a phone call? Maybe ask them to email you as verification - all you have to do them is make sure you have the right vet paperwork 🙂

well as far as I understand / as things stand right now - if you were to leave the airport in Bangkok you would have to go into an official ASQ hotel in Bangkok in quarantine for 14 days and your dog would have to go into a dog hotel.

If you don’t plan on leaving the airport you will have a hard time - there are no dog relief areas that I know of and no pet friendly sleeping boxes in the airport that I know of.

The other problem depends on the airline - I don’t know of any domestic flights within Thailand that will transport a dog (even a service dog) - I know Thai airways won’t for example.

That’s why I’m planning on leaving bangkok by car after I arrive. It’s sadly very difficult 😕

However, I did a quick search and it looks like there are flights from New York to Phuket with a stopover in Singapore with Singapore airlines. Singapore airlines does seem to support service dogs so honestly I would find a potential flight that works for you, then contact them and ask them for more information (double check that the service dog would be allowed on both flights - to the US to Singapore and from Singapore to Phuket - double check if there any entry restrictions for Singapore and find out if there are dog relief areas at the airport in Singapore).

Then hopefully if your vaccinated you don’t need to quarantine in Phuket after July 1st

** they’ll be treated like a pet once you’re in Thailand is what I meant — but since you’re flying from the US they are allowed on the airline as a service dog - just make sure wherever you stop over that they can handle that you want to look up each individual airports rules and regulations - KLM is a good airline and so is Lufthansa if they offer flights (in terms of recognizing service dogs I mean)

Hey so bringing your service dog to Thailand is possible but they’ll basically be treated like a pet - they can fly with you in the plane and all that but you need to make sure you do all the paperwork / shots etc right — going to Phuket is a good idea because they won’t allow dogs, even service dogs in the ASQ hotels (from what I’ve heard and read - since you’re not supposed to leave the hotel that means your dog can’t go to the bathroom basically what is the reasoning I’m hearing).

I have a service dog too and am planning a move to Thailand later this year - there aren’t going to be any direct flights from the US to Phuket as far as I know - there will be 1 or 2 layovers somewhere. Make sure you look up the laws for wherever you layover is.

I’m looking into a direct flight from Germany to Bangkok but either after the quarantine regulations are shortened or I’m gonna have a friend or family member Fly first so that they can look after my service dog while I’m in quarantine.

I have looked into getting a private charter but it is crazy fucking expensive like the cheapest one I found was $50,000 for the flight (but it was the whole plane lol and no problem for pets on board - if I was rich I’d prob do it).

I read they plan on lifting quarantine regulations in Phuket first, from 1 July for vaccinated travelers, and if that goes well then other "popular" tourist areas. This is kind of what I'm hoping for, I want to move in July or August but I'm bringing my pets and do not want to put them into a foreign boarding facility upon arrival so I can quarantine.
