If you own a resort in Thailand, you can't count that as your income for the dtv, as I understand it.. the money has to come from outside of Thailand.

I read that a small business owner wrote a letter of recommendation from the business to the owner and got approved.. but it all seems a coin toss to me at the moment

You need to get a re-entry permit.

If your company hasn't filed anything about your så, you should be fine.

If you need to leave the country too, make sure to end the work permit before you go.

What James said.. you get a naughty stamp in your passport, and fined 500 baht for each day over, and if it's too much, you won't be coming back in the foreseeable future.

Just pay the 1900 baht to extend, or take a short vacay to get it sorted.
