If you get the 60 day visa exempt stamp and extend by a further 30 days at the Immigration office, Immigration class you as a tourist. If you then attempt to enter again on a visa exempt stamp, Immigration rightly consider that after on 90 day stay in the country that you are no longer a tourist but that you are attempting to live long term in the country. While there is no legal limit to the number of Visa exempt entries, once the Immigration officer believes that you are no longer visiting the country as a tourist he will deny you entry. 3. If you have already stayed for 90 days on a visa exempt entry, then in future to guarantee entry into Thailand, you need to obtain a long term visa suitable to the reason for your stay.

The two visa exempt entries (by land) expired when the exemption went from 30 to 60 days. 60 days plus 30 day extentoion gives 90 days. Immiigration considers that 90 days is suitable for tourists. Any additional entries after that (regardless of calendar year) indicates that you are no longer a tourist and likely to be denyed entry.

Visa Exempt entry is for tourists. Your past history of long term stay in Thailand tells Immigration that you are not a tourist. If you now enter Thailand hoping for a visa exempt stamp. the Immigration officer will likely deny you entry.

Under Thai law, the estate is shared equally by the surviving immediate family members. It will also take a long time to settle the estate if someone dies without a valid will as the estate must be settled through the courts. Please advise all your family and friends to make a valid Thai will (my Australian will does not cover assets (car, motor bike, money in my Thai bank) I own in Thailand.

That rule went away when the Visa Exempt stamp went to 60 days. If you are not a tourist be prepared to be denied entry on Visa Exempt.
