Not Bangkok, but I have extended elsewhere.

Not all are extending their 30 or 60 days entry. Many are extending other visas, or 90 day reports.

Out of the millions of tourists arriving annually, only a mere fraction extend..

Most only arrive for a week or 2..

Australian...

2007, registered .072 at a random breath test..6 months loss of licence.

Fast forward, Australian police check 2016 for my Thai marriage.

No mention of any law problems.

(The drink driving is my only run in with the law)

Make sure you have proof that your phone number is registered to your name, passport, and Telco company have taken your photo.... it's all about the fear of money laundering. I've got my atm card, but am still waiting to be able to use the banking app, as they are checking my validity....

Why just have the absolute minimum??

Gee, deposit a few extra thousand baht to cover annual account fees or whatever may be deducted unexpectedly.....

Why is it difficult to open a Thai bank account without a visa?

From my experience, many bank staff have no experience in opening an account for aliens...even with the guide book in hand.

It's just out of their comfort zone to do it..
