So he's actually falsified his application? That's a bit silly, he stands to lose his application fee

Yes! That's very true. The great thing about DTV is it's out of the scope of Thai Visa Agents. Applicants actually have to have the 500,000 baht in their bank account

That screenshot is from Siam-Legal so I don't know if it's correct. I'd be guided more by the actual online application. I haven't looked at it, so I don't know if it asks for current location. But if it asks for it, and you answer "Thailand" and it allows you to continue it must be ok. I don't know and I'll stand corrected on it

Doesn't the application ask you which country you're in? If you answered "Thailand" why would there be a problem?

@Oshra *******
Why will you pay tax? You're not allowed to work in Thailand for any business based in Thailand

It's a great idea actually, when you look at savings and convenience. And the DTV is no ordinary tourist visa. Five years for 10,000 baht! And no annual trips to immigration! 👍👍

You don't need 400k in the bank. That's only for males married to Thai women. A foreign woman married to a Thai man doesn't need this

The new PM may see the value of the DTV and increase it to TEN years! 👍👍👍👍

The new PM may cancel ALL longstay visas and start deporting all expats.
