Successful DTV Visa with spouse - Phnom Penh Cambodia 🇰🇭 🎉

Processing time- Minimum 1 week

Walk-in. No appointment necessary.

Submitted documents

1. Thai Bank Statement - 900k

2. Singapore Bank Statement - 20k

3. Uk Engineering Degree

4. Supporting letter from company director that I can work remotely

5. US Business license

6. Singapore Business license

7. Thai Vehicle Ownership Document and Thai House Rental Contract as supporting documents

8. Marriage Certificate for spouse

9. $400 visa fees per person

Our visas were approved.

Many others front of us were rejected and they refunded visa fees.

Tips: They mainly check 2 things. Financial and work supporting documents.

You need to convince the visa officer that you can work remotely. So, submit as many verified documents as you can.

Submit thai bank statement if possible so that they can confirm with their banks. Otherwise, they may ask for last 6 months statements.

They prefer work category instead of soft power or others.

Best of luck 🤞

What do you mean ‘they prefer work category instead of soft power’? The soft power makes you eligible, regardless of preferences of consulate/embassy staff, no? (If you have the correct paperwork of course)

You say you saw many being rejected, any idea why?

does the visa have a use by date on as in if I apply now will it still be valid for the end of December, thank you.

may I ask, as I will be going to this embassy under the same criteria (employment contract), was the contract from your home / passport country?

Their website states ‘contract from your country’. Mine is not from my home country and I am wondering if this is in fact important or not? Thank you! 🙏

thanks for your post! If you have your own business in the States, do you know if there is any problem writing your own letter explaining that you’re self employed and the owner of the company,…obviously with detailed description of your company‘s business.? Thanks in advance! 🙏

Yes, US and Singapore are my own companies. It shouldn’t be a problem.

1. Company Letter Head with formal format

2. Job description

3. Why you can work remotely

4. Website link or ref (if any)

5. State Business Profile

6. Educational certificates (if relevant to the work)

I recommend to submit as many relevant documents as possible.

Your name sounds Burmese but given you have a US business, I wonder what your citizenship is and which passport you used to apply for this visa?

@Paul ******
I am still holding Burmese passport. 😃

thank you so much!!!

Hey! I also got the DTV. And I think we all missed an important point. We're going to pay taxes in Thailand because of this visa. Does anyone understand how is it gonna work?
Jim ********
@Oshra *******
Why will you pay tax? You're not allowed to work in Thailand for any business based in Thailand

I have tax id. You can apply tax id at the nearest revenue department by yourself or you can hire 3rd party service to apply as everything is written in Thai.

Did they check anything at the airport upon arrival?

@Yin *******
Strong financial bank statements, stock documents with your name may help.

Did your spouse apply at the same time as you?

@Chris ********
Right. Can apply together.

Does the money need to be in the Thai Bank account or can be in an account of the home country? And am I correct in thinking that the minimum is 500k baht or equivalent? Thank you

Sure, that's always a good idea to do that. Thanks for letting us know how it went, it confirms some of the questions I previously had, especially regarding applying in Phnom Penh. The 1 week turnaround is the only annoying thing about applying there.

@Paul ******
Right. Very annoying. We were surprised by that and had to change flights.

be prepared to show PROOF of your having 500,000 Thai baht or more in ANY BANK ACCOUNT. And look at the Thai Embassy or Consulate website for their requirements for the DVT visa and financial requirements. They're not all the same requirements for the DVT visa.

Any bank.

Look at the Thai Embassy or Consulate websites for their requirements for the DVT visa. The banking requirements for the DVT visa can be different in showing proof of your having the 500,000 Thai baht bank account balance.

Better to show thai bank statement if you have one as they can verify with their banks. Otherwise it’s still ok but they may ask for 3-6 months bank statements. I do recommend 550k or above.

Agreed, good advice. I'm transferring funds to my Thai account as it's much easier to verify that way.

I assume a business registration of the company you're working for (which you supplied) and a letter from your employer specifying that you're working remotely is really all that's needed and was supplied in your case.

The other documents you supplied help, but aren't necessary (proof of address etc.)

Right. But if they request more documents, it may take several days more. So, I submitted all as supporting documents.

Congrats!
