My wife is Thai. I am flying to Thailand on 27th Dec on a 60 day return ticket, but will extend the 60 day visa to 30 days more, then change my return ticket when i am in Thailand. I thought that was the best way to do it, since i too couldnt find the answer to the same question.
actually you don't need to get married again. Since you are already married you only need to register your marriage in Thailand. You can't go around getting married in every country you visit..
You just need to bring your marriage certificate, attested by the Thai Embassy from your country, then come to Thailand, and register your marriage in Thailand.
Its like an pre approval. So the systems checks your eligibility prior to you flying into Thailand so there are no complications at the entry point in Thailand. This system was in place for Georgia, and few other countries, during Covid-19.
i agree. Technically it may not be a visa, but you have to get your passport stamped at the border. That itself works like a entry permit/authorization. I am aware of this, as my wife is Thai too.
