TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian national married to a Thai citizen seeks advice on obtaining a long stay visa to be in Thailand during the delivery of their baby. Suggestions include applying for a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage, which is ideal for long stays, or a 60-day tourist visa that can be extended for an additional 30 days. Other comments discuss the importance of consulting the Thai embassy for specific visa requirements and paperwork needed for application, as well as considerations for the baby's nationality.

I dont intend to live continously in Thailand for over 3 months. I can show my bank account statement in India. Moreover i can give proof of my wife's home etc in Thailand. I dont want to park any amount in any Thai bank account.
Get Bank Acct, and send ( from abroad ) 65k . You can use this money on your 3 month trips. You may have to nest Baht 1st year. ( I didnt ) but depending on IO in your province.
Many try to complcate things, IO are ' really ' trying to help, just be honest.

You can opt for either a tourist visa (valid for 60 days) or a Non-O dependent visa (valid for 90 days) in Dubai. In Thailand, you can then convert it to a marriage visa (with an additional year of validity). However, please note that you'll need to check with the embassy as they require certain documents such as a marriage certificate and proof of funds in the bank. Dont forget to get Multi entry stamp before exiting Thailand, without the stamp, even though your visa is 90 days, if you exit on day 60th and would like to re-enter before day 90th, you would need to get another visa.
I presume your wife wants to deliver the baby in Thailand due to her desire to be close to her family for support, as delivering and caring for a baby is new to her. Perhaps you could consider delivering the baby in Dubai instead and fly your wife's family members or parents to Dubai?
We delivered our daughter in France and are now residing in Thailand. When we share stories about our daughter's birth, such as during school registration, participation in activities, or applying for visas, we've found that immigration officers and Thais are more accommodating towards us and our daughter. Moreover, this experience could potentially foster a desire for your child to learn a new languages and explore new cultures.

Ps: If you want the child to also receive your nationality passport, indicate this before the birth. It's the easiest way βAfter birth it is really difficult and requires many worries and expenses.
not sure. I have to check the process from Indian Embassy in Thailand. I guess the Indian Embassy will want our marriage certificate (which was already attested by the Indian embassy in Thailand), and the birth certificate of the baby, with our names as parents...

I didn't get it, you are married and need a long stay visa? No marriage visa or what?
my wife and myself live in Dubai right now. My wife is going back to her home town in Thailand to deliver the baby. I would like to go there during the time of delivery, and would like to stay in Thailand for about 2 or 3 months max. After 3 months when the baby is 2 months, we will travel back to India. We have our home in Goa, India.
I'm trying to understand how this person went through the legalities of marrying this woman and asking for short term visa stays ? Now she's pregnant ? Where is he living fulltime ? Is she living in Thailand and you are visiting from time to time ?I don't want to sound insensitive, but it just sounds so "passport bro". If he did any research the question would most likely have something to do with interpreting the laws. Just seems to be a little too old to be this ignorant and irresponsible. Immigration lawyer stat.I woke up super early today so allow me to reread the post.πππ½

Guys, request you to please drop it. Let peace prevail. Everyones intensions here are good, and want to help.
you obviously haven't experienced "nasty". I literally explained my thought process and congratulated him toward the end . Don't be a s*** starter and don't interject your feelings and corrupt his head BC YOU are offended . He literally has an understanding. He can defend himself which he did and your silly ass has to be like it's not ok . This is a damn forum grow the hell up .
He doesn't need your defense . The conversation ended . Contribute or mind your business period. Lived in Thailand twice .. This group specifically has alot of s***posting which I eluded to and frankly yes I have an opinion . Sooo whaaat?!! People do . I didn't call for him being burnt on the stake . Start from A - Z quit getting stuck on one thing . Look at the end result .. everything is kosher between HIM and I !!!. The person who I'm having a discussion with . You come in being a Cape Crusader, feel like you need to save the day when noone sent for your ass. Frankly annoying . "One of those " ? Get off the thread and add input instead of boo-hooing ..
You are just saying words and not being constructive . Just being antagonistic. What is the meaning behind your words ? Absolutely nothing . Digging myself where ? U are emotionally stunted . You are so rock hard to defend someone who is not even offended . I will not respond to you anymore . You are slow and stunted ..need an analysis, refuse for my nervous system to be disrupted bc you can't understand the handling of discourse. Annoying as the magpies during mating season.
this person lives with his wife in Dubai & India. This person has been going to Thailand only for short 10-15 day trips. And during a short trip got married in Thailand itself. Now for the baby's delivery wife is going back to Thailand, and he wants to travel to Thailand during the delivery for a longer duration. Hope that clarifies your doubt.
Thank you . I was just kinda like "hmm how you wouldn't think to get the marriage certified in the country where she is nationalised?" Knowing you go back and forth and most likely will extend the family .I also wasn't sure if this was a real post as many of them are not .
You didn't seek this type of information when you got married ? ..or before that . Just a bit stunned that you are asking for visas that would apply to tourists as you are married with a baby on the way .
Please consult with an immigration lawyer on your rights as someone married to a Thai national.I would suggest asking the group the direction of proper agents / immi lawyers to advise with and or how to not get scammed in the process .I wish you the best of luck and congratulations π π€π½

Your question is contradictory. You ask for "a long stay visa, 60 or 90 days". Do you want a long stay visa, or a visa for only 60 or 90 days (e.g. short stay visa)?
A long stay visa would in your case be the non-immigrant type O, based on marriage. If you want a short stay visa, just apply for a tourist visa. That'll give you 60, and you can extend to 90.
Aakash *********
You can get TR 60 , from thai embassy (Tourist Visa) from India itself .
You can get letter from Indian Consulate by proving your circumstances and extend for additional 30 days. (90 days in total)
Or You Can apply Non Immigration visa based on marriage (If you are married )
when I first came to Thailand gold was $320 /oz, now $2320 /oz.

It might happen that the next visa waiver measures will become effective soon (no guarantee)... that would give you a 60 day stamp, most probably extendable once for 30 days.
Yep, you are right... and I didn't say that it will be possible for sure, no? But... since the idea is to bring more tourists inside (and keep them longer) it would make sense to offer the extension... otherwise the Immigration would lose a lot of money. So... the rumours are, that the extension will be available also for the 60 day exempt. But hey... we are still in Thailand... things can be totally different tomorrow... π

Get non O for marriage thats 90 days
Max *************
Michael Dawson That'll work as long he has a valid marriage license and some money in the bank back home.
wrong! For the Non-O visa application, it is absolutely unimportant in which country he holds a bank account. All he needs to do is prove that the account is in his sole name. Actually he could use a Thai bank account for the visa application in his home country. . . . For the application to the 1-year extension however, the bank account must be on a Thai bank and in his sole name. Some Immigrations allow it to be an account on both his and his wife's name, if double the required money sits in it = 2 x 400.000.- THB
As if an Indian citizen living in India would use or even have a bank account in "any" country. And he isn't asking about an extension, just a 60 days tourist visa or if possible a 90 days Non-immigrant O based on marriage.
for a 90 days Non-immigrant O based on marriage, he will need a 6-months bank statement. However on the website of the Royal Thai Embassy New Delhi, it does not get mentioned how much money he must prove in his bank account
as an Indian citizen married to a Thai wife, it can rightfully be assumed that he maybe holds a bank account in Thailand. He however didn't mention anything like that
i dont have a bank account in Thailand. But my wife has a bank account in Thailand, where we keep a basic balance for our expenses in Thailand(approx 300,000 bhat). I can show my bank statement from an Indian bank account.
For a 60-days tourist visa, the requirements for an Indian citizen are set high:

Just go to the Thai embassy or consulate's website back home and check out how to apply for a 60 days tourist visa. You can then extend the stay another 30 days at the local immigration office. Cost: ΰΈΏ1.900. This is the easiest way to get 90 days.

You apply at your local Thai embassy
