@Robert ******
I’ve been asked to show before, that’s why I staple into my passport the receipt!

Robert Lagas and what about people who then later travel to another area and report in new location - and the new location (such as Chiang Mai etc) want to see your previous report?!

Or maybe they meant you need to lodge a TM30 for notifying address...this MUST be done when you return from overseas - technically within 24 hours - have you done this?

IMPORTANT thing to remember is BEFORE you leave Thailand - cancel your extension of stay based on your ED visa.

I myself, Aussie, didn’t know of this fact until after the wise Tod explained that if you don’t cancel your previous extension of stay (before you leave Thailand), you can still be considered to be on “overstay” even though you return and are admitted back into the country on a new visa. Leaving Thailand doesn’t automatically cancel your previous extension of stay. Seems weird and illogical but if you don’t do it - you face a fine up to 20,000 Baht when you next go to extend your stay on your new visa.

Simply get a letter from your school requesting to cancel your extension of stay on the day you are planning to leave Thailand. Go to immigration and cancel, then leave on that day.

Robert Lagas who was talking about the children - the mother (adult) will be on overstay and she can be arrested, jailed and deported !!!

Don’t get pulled up by the Police for anything during overstay period...might complicate things

You are required to cancel any ED extension at immigration with a letter provided by your school - otherwise face a potential overstay fine up to 20,000 Baht (even if you leave and return with different visa)
