Question: about the Thai Consulate in Vientiane , Laos.

Has anyone had problems there processing a follower/dependents' (for children or spouse) visa on their volunteer visa application?

My friends are heading there but were told that there might be a problem with this particular embassy which doesn't approve or provide the service for family/follower visas?

Hi all! We are a UK family of 6 in Chiang Mai. We are staying 12 KMs outside of Chiang Mai city centre.

Our 45 day initial visa exempt period ends on 15th Dec. We intend to extend by another 30 days. Are there forms we can fill in ahead of arrival to the immigration office? If so, how can I get hold of them? Our Air BNB landlord has filled out the TM 30 forms and showed us proof of this so that’s done. If we arrived at the immigration office early (e.g. 12th Dec), would the 30 day extension start from 13th or would they extend from 16th as per our 45 day visa exempt period end date stamp in our passports?

I’m currently in Thailand. Been here 14 years on a non-profit volunteer visa. My wife and our kids are all American. Kids have grown up here.

We’re going to the States in May. Planning to return in September.

My visa expires in March of 2022.

My 16-year-old son’s visa expires in August because we just renewed his passport.

I went to immigration yesterday (in Surin) to ask them if they would extend my son’s “follower” stamp/visa “ผู้ติดตามครอบครัว” to have it expire at the same time as mine in March of 2022. They told me they could only do it 45 days ahead of time which is late June. I will be in the States then.

I’m trying to figure out what I need to do to extend his follower stamp/visa while in the States. In the past we just send the application to a Thai consulate and they give the kids a visa that allows them to return to Thailand which then gets changed to a “follower” stamp once we’re back in the country.

Is anyone familiar with how this process works now during the time of COVID-19? We don’t want to have to apply for a separate visa for our 16 year old kid because of all the complications of the ASQ and COEs and such. Any thoughts?

Hi Guys, I am due to get my visa extension on 2nd September, Married Thai Wife, but we will have to take our 3-year-old granddaughter with us, will that be a problem, the office is at Kap Cheong, or will it be ok to go the next day, ( no granddaughter) which will be a day late, thanks in advance.

Tod Daniels Hello brother (in Christ) may I ask you that, I'm an Indian staying in Bangkok with my Thai wife and one child for last 5 years. With Non O visa based on marriage. By next month I want to travel to Malaysia with my wife and child. so my question is after I get re entry stamp.when I back to Thailand again do I need to show 20k cash to IO or I might ask for that? And yet I'm not holding a work permit, is there will be some problems ?

Thank you.

Hello folks. I current am on Non Immigrant B Visa multiple entry and work permit working for US company but with Thailand office. Family (wife and son) piggy backed onto that via my employment. Family and I have to report every 90 days or leave/come back via flight over border. Company handles the 90 day reports, we just hand over forms and passports.

>>>Employment ends end of this month. Company is using a service to cancel my work permit, they say I must leave country by end of month+ 7 days grace period

We have apartment with belongings.

I also have 1 year vietnam visa in passport

Goal: Stay here, continue looking for next tech job. Family is currently back in USA (our country of residency, returning 26th June)

Questions:

1. Can we get a SETV “tourist” 60 day + later 30 day extension WITHOUT the cost of returning to USA to apply for it? Not Thailand but close by country?

2. If 1 is true, then can we simply go to HCMC Vietnam or do you recommend another place?

3. If 1 is not true ( have to go back to USA), then since family is ALREADY in USA, can they apply there for new SETV visa despite currently they are in US, and despite the work permit not yet cancelled?

Attached pictures of my passport pages

Thank you for tips, trying to minimize costs but go by the book....

Overstay question:

My family is here on a one year multi entry volunteer visa, so we all have to exit every 90 days. My husband just returned from a work trip outside of Thailand, but my kids and I need to exit on/before June 12. We are leaving Thailand July 11 for several months. Wondering if I exit solo in the next few weeks without the kids, (kids all under age 9), what’s the overstay consequence for minors, with the overstay just under one month?

We can all head to the border in a few weeks if need be, but since my husband doesn’t need to, just wondering if we could save a road trip with young kids, just me exit and return, and then all of us leave July 11 without much issue?

Hi guys, I searched this group but couldn't find the answers I'm looking for so here's my question:

My family and I got a 30 day tourist visa on arrival. We are planning on applying for a 60 day extension at the Ubon Ratchathani Immigration. Is there an application form that we will have to fill out there? Is it available online? Are there any new restrictions for 2018?

I have 3 boys under 7 years old so completing all of our applications at the Immigration office will be difficult.

Thanks!

Can I get re-entry permits for my wife and son at Lad Prao Immigration even though their Extensions are processed at CW? Do they need to be present?
