are you doing a border run and have your own vehicle?

I personally go to Wang Prachan border over Pedang Besar or Sadao border.

Two main reasons for choosing Wang Prachan.

* It's not as busy, there's less tour groups, there's no train station and there's basically no trucks.

* The Malaysian immigration checkpoint is about 100m walk and the whole process takes 15-20 mins.

(I have a Non-O visa)

I've never been asked to show cash (at southern borders) but always take all 3 just incase

Firstly, whatever is said on this topic you should go to a lawyer and other specialists

To get a non-B visa, you will need a Thai company. I'm assuming you're attempting to buy an operating business, in which case you've got that box ticked however you will want to speak with a lawyer before purchasing as other rules will apply depending on your level of investment etc (Thai directors and Thai employees etc)

You won't have to apply for a work permit, it would be recommended that you DID. With just the visa you would not be allowed to "help" at the bar in any way what so ever (legally).

If your spouse has changed their maiden name, yes tabian baan (and other ID docs) would have to be updated

If your spouse hasn't changed their maiden name, I don't know - I guess not

Yeah, non-O based on marriage (not sure about other circumstances)
