What is the fine for not checking in with TM30 in Thailand and can I still do it after a trip to Vietnam?

Hey all,

My Thai driving license requires renewal on the 17th of November. I'm using a Non-O ME visa, my current stamp is valid until the 24th of November.

I forgot to check-in with my local immigration re: tm30.

Two questions:

1) The fine for not checking in within 24 hours is 1600 baht?

2) Can I take an early trip to Vietnam and complete the tm30 when I'm back (without the fine)?

Thanks

Matt

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about the fine for not checking in with the local immigration office regarding TM30 reporting and whether they can travel to Vietnam and still complete the TM30 process upon their return without incurring a fine.

Hat Yai, he has been nice in the past - so I'm almost certain I'll get a fine (deservedly) this time
