Even an agency has to apply for your DTV through the e-visa system of a Thai embassy or consulate in a country outside of Thailand. And one of the requirements needed to upload with the application is an evidence or proof that you are actually inside that country. So something like the entry stamp in your passport. I am very curious how an agency can get around this requirement. Maybe a hotel booking in this country will suffice? There is one thing for sure: using the agent it's gonna cost ya a large wad of cash

I hope that there still is enough space in his passport for the ugly overstay stamp

someone mentioned that for entering Vietnam, you need two blank pages left in your passport . . . . . he needs to immediately leave Thailand on a flight back to his home country. Pay 500 THB for every day of overstay at the airport. He should not stay in Thailand any longer. I hope that there still is enough space in his passport for the ugly overstay stamp

a big elephant is standing in the room - is there still enough space in his passport for that ugly overstay stamp ? 😎

the only safe route is: fly back home immediately and pay the overstay fine at the airport. Even on the full passport. On the way out there is no more exit stamp from Thailand through the automated gates. However, he will need a little bit of space for the OVERSTAY STAMP in his passport. If there isn't even this little space, he needs an emergency passport from his embassy 😄😃😄

it will take much too long to get a new passport. He will sum up too many days of overstay and he is running the risk of getting arrested, detained and blacklisted. He needs an emergency passport from his embassy, it takes a day or two, and then immediately leave Thailand on a flight back to his home country. Pay 500 THB for every day of overstay at the airport. He should not stay in Thailand any longer

It is more than just stupid- it is absolutely crazy to think that he just needs to visit Immigration with a new passport, being on XY days of overstay, and expect to receive a touristic extension? How stupid can people be?

that was me thinking as well. He could get an emergency passport issued from his embassy, which can be had within a day or two, then buy a flight ticket back to his home country and pay the overstay fine at the airport. He shouldn't wait much longer! The plan of his friend is outright stupid, because not even a new passport will enable him to receive a touristic extension from Immigration - on the contrary, he is running into the risk of getting arrested
