you can't apply for a Non-Imm-O Married Visa if you are not married to a Thai wife. . . . . .so all that's left is, you can apply for the 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa in your home country, or enter Thailand on a tourist visa or visa exempt. On a tourist entry, you cannot open a bank account any more., you would need the Non-Imm-O Visa Type for that. . . . . And then you first need to get married - a process which can take up to 6 months depending how fast authorities in your home country work !

Again, a terminology issue

“I now have a multiple entry retirement visa”

There is no such visa any more since October 2023 (except if you are a Japanese citizen, they still issue them from the Thai Embassy in Tokio)

All you got is a “1-year Extension of the Stay Permit based on Retirement”, for which you bought a multi re-entry permit for 3800 THB

yes, it is possible. It is called "change of visa type" and described as a change from a touristic entry to an in-country 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa. The requirements can be read of the pdf document which opens if you click onto number 9 that refers to your case . . .

you should throw your travel agent into the bin. Complete waste of time, as the filling out of the TDAC online digital arrival card starts from May 1st. and doesn't relate to you. Just fr....g check into your flight without a visa. If your plan stay in Thailand longer than 60 days and your return flight is after these 60 days you will get stamped in upon entry, you might need n onward travel proof for the airline

The only downside you need to consider, is . . . . . . you might expect the airline asking for an onward travel proof out of Thailand within the 60 days you will get stamped in when you enter without a visa. Other than that, just await the Email response and the affirmation to a DTV. You then only need to do a border run to activate your DTV
