not sure about complicated, but you habe to have more money in the bank. Retirement you don't have to leave the country and can get a bank account easily ... DTV you have to leave every 6 months and so far difficult to get a Thai bank account. Just depends what's easy for you or what you need.

Best to go for DTV under soft power activity if your under 50yrs old. Otherwise can get the retirement visa.

Better to apply to Hanoi as long as in Vietnam ... Most people saying it's easier and only 4-7 days. Ho chi Minh not getting the same reviews

really good if you decide to go Muay Thai route. They get all documents to you same day, 20kbht for 6 months training. Good luck.
