when a Canadian citizen mentions he gets a 90 days visa, he surely means that he can enter with a single entry tourist visa, receive a 60 days stay permit which he can extend for 30 more days stay permit. In his eyes, it would be a "90 days visa". In reality, there is nothing such as a 90-days Tourist visa. There only is a 90-days single entry Non-Imm-O visa based different reasons

and you do NOT have a 12-month visa. There is nothing such. You received a "1-year Extension of Stay Permit". You are in Thailand on a "stay permit", not on a "visa". Check the stamp you got, what does it say? It says "extension of stay permitted until" and a date

NO, you did not. You CAN apply for the "change of visa type" with a visa-exempt or a tourist visa. But NOT with a visa-on-arrival, believe me

because when you hold a VALID visa, Immigration will NEVER issue any other category of entry. You cannot legally hold two different visa or two stay permits at the same time
