When you are married or have property, you can open even if you don't have long term visa At least that's what they told me at Bangkok bank in Phuket .. if you have non o, there should never be a problem
I have called yesterday my bank manager from bkk bank, for a friend, Belgium, who's account was closed because of tourist visa She told me that head office gave orders to freeze all accounts opened on tourist visa untill proven that they have in the mean time a long term visa, married to Thai or own property
My friend went to the bank and there were dozen of people in the same situation It doesn't concern me so I'm closing this conversation on my side because you use too much the word BS which I don't like
