@Davis *****
no, I'm in the process of moving, which is why i visited and paid an actual thai tax attorney office that specializes in foreigners to learn about this, aside from also doing my own research on the topic. Which I'm now sharing for free only to be disrespected apparently. But you don't have to listen to me, if you want to commit fraud you're free to do so.

@Davis *****
that's all wishful thinking, the government clearly expects it.

What's with calling others idiots? I've always talked respectfully. They didn't catch you then doesn't mean they won't in the future. So you don't mind if later they catch you and you need to pay what you owe plus fines? Everyone decides for themselves the risks they take, but i think you're playing with fire.

DTV is irrelevant, just 180 days threshold. Every thai tax lawyer will tell you the same. What does enforcement have to do with it? You only follow rules that are enforced? You realize they can go back in time x years to check your taxation record right?

@Colin ********
the DTV is multiple entry by default as i understand it. There is no 'protecting your visa'.

Just a reminder you'll become a tax resident once you've stayed 180 days or more in the same calendar year. You'll be expected to file.

like i said i have no idea how long the queues usually are here, and it seems pretty busy here for not being high season. Why the 'is this serious?' remark? I knew the yellow shirts provided this service for few hundred bath because i had read about it, but when i asked for it all the guy gave me was a sales pitch for the 4000 all inclusive service, hence my question. Knowing more about the value they actually provide also gives people more bargaining power to negotiate.

that's true, bypassing the queue is probably the most value, but i have no idea how long this generally takes. In bangkok it did take me a few hours :(

2100 seems like a lot to me for 15 minutes of paperwork and a picture.
