Looking forward to apply for the DTVisa soon. Is it true that the Thai immigration authority is not accepting WISE bank account statements but only bank account statements from banks which are located in the country you are from when they are checking your financial credibility?
Thanks for your attention đ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post inquires about the acceptance of Wise bank account statements by Thai immigration authorities when applying for a DTVisa, noting their concerns about financial credibility. Comments clarify that Wise is not considered a traditional bank, which may affect its acceptance, and emphasize that the requirements can vary depending on where the application is made. It's suggested to check specific embassy requirements and that the funds for DTVisa may come from any bank, although opening a Thai bank account might pose challenges.
Search for requirements from the specific Embassy you want to apply at, since the requirements differ quite a lot.
For DTV the 500.000+ Baht deposit can be in any bank anywhere, and you will have big difficulties with opening a Thai Bankaccount, both with and without DTV, so donât count on that being possible.
You seem to not understand. EVERY EMBASSY makes their own rules. Each one is different. Some might accept Wise. Some might not accept Wise. Without you telling us which EMBASSY (NOT immigration) that you will be applying through, this question is IMPOSSIBLE to answer. Yet you continue to argue, therefore making your question useless. If you don't want to answer questions to help yourself, stop posting.

Even an agency has to apply for your DTV through the e-visa system of a Thai embassy or consulate in a country outside of Thailand. And one of the requirements needed to upload with the application is an evidence or proof that you are actually inside that country. So something like the entry stamp in your passport. I am very curious how an agency can get around this requirement. Maybe a hotel booking in this country will suffice? There is one thing for sure: using the agent it's gonna cost ya a large wad of cash

Peepz, please. I know that. I was only asking for an expertise referring the bank account balance check. Look up the main post.
suggest you join Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) group and read up on posts for a day or two. You need to understand the basics of qualifying for the DTV visa.
Wise is not a bank which is why they generally don't accept them. It really doesn't matter what bank you use as long as it is an actual bank. The same can be true of Revolut which is a bank in some territories but not others
Sorry, but your comment is not the smartest ever. So, in your world Wise is a bank because the money you transfer goes to a bank? You don't need to be a bank to transfer money. A financial institution can also do that, and that's what Wise is.
In the USA, money goes from my institution to Community Federal Bank when I tra sfer to WISE. That is where WISE holds it. Last I checked, Community Federal Bank is a.....bank. IT may go to other places in different countries, but in the USA it goes to a bank and a bank is what DTV requires. As far as not being the smartest, you need to work on your own game bud, enough there to keep you busy.
it really doesn't matter where Wise holds your money. Wise is not a bank, in exactly the same way that you are not a bank just because you happen to hold some money in a bank account. If you happen to have an account in your name with Community Federal Bank with sufficient funds in it then by all means use that account to apply for a DTV. A Wise account is still not a bank account
not arguing nor throwing a spanner in the works. I literally preceded my words with 'i think' followed by what i thought. It was a genuine question actually hoping for some feedback. I guess that is not allowed anymore. I also thanked Pete for the clarification but i thought his statement was unnecessary that's all. And people wonder why facebook groups get a bad rep.
if wise is not a bank then why do I have a personal Belgian IBAN with wise. Same with revolut soon. I think any financial institution that offers national IBAN accounts falls under the regulation of the central bank of that nation and its rules and is technically a bank.
Wise is registered as a financial institution, nothing else. Why argue about something you obviously don't understand anything about? A bank is officially a totally different thing.
Wise is not a bank. It does not have a bank license. Wise is an electronic money transmitter. It doesnât matter what you think, the fact is Wise is not a bank.
