Dear group

Looking forward to apply for the DTVisa soon. Is it true that the Thai immigration authority is not accepting WISE bank account statements but only bank account statements from banks which are located in the country you are from when they are checking your financial credibility?

Thanks for your attention 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the acceptance of WISE bank account statements by Thai immigration authorities in relation to applying for a DTVisa. It is indicated that WISE is not considered a traditional bank, leading to its statements generally not being accepted. The conversation highlights that the acceptance of banking statements may depend on the location of the application. Users emphasize the importance of consulting the specific embassy's requirements, noting that the necessary financial proof can be maintained in various banks as long as they are recognized as legitimate banks.

Search for requirements from the specific Embassy you want to apply at, since the requirements differ quite a lot.

For DTV the 500.000+ Baht deposit can be in any bank anywhere, and you will have big difficulties with opening a Thai Bankaccount, both with and without DTV, so don’t count on that being possible.

Not that hard to open a bank account if you're on correct type of visa, which a DTV isn't.

What has immigration in Thailand got to do with you having money in a Wise account and applying for a DTV outside Thailand?

Where are you applying? Wise/Revolut acceptance depends on where you apply.

Even an agency has to apply for your DTV through the e-visa system of a Thai embassy or consulate in a country outside of Thailand. And one of the requirements needed to upload with the application is an evidence or proof that you are actually inside that country. So something like the entry stamp in your passport. I am very curious how an agency can get around this requirement. Maybe a hotel booking in this country will suffice? There is one thing for sure: using the agent it's gonna cost ya a large wad of cash

Peepz, please. I know that. I was only asking for an expertise referring the bank account balance check. Look up the main post.

Thanks for your attention & engagement though.

and someone asked WHERE you will apply for DTV, meaning which Thai embassy. And you replied with Chiang Mai. There is no Thai embassy in Chiang Mai.

Applying can imply that I hand my documents to an agency first, sir

If you're asking for help,is it so hard to answer simple questions? And by the way, read your own post, does it even make sense?

suggest you join Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) group and read up on posts for a day or two. You need to understand the basics of qualifying for the DTV visa.

You can not apply in Chiang Mai, it has to be outside of Thailand.. If you are in ThaIlnd you can go to Vietnam, Jakarta etc to apply.

Are you going to apply for a DTV in Chiang Mai??

Wise is not a bank which is why they generally don't accept them. It really doesn't matter what bank you use as long as it is an actual bank. The same can be true of Revolut which is a bank in some territories but not others

if wise is not a bank then why do I have a personal Belgian IBAN with wise. Same with revolut soon. I think any financial institution that offers national IBAN accounts falls under the regulation of the central bank of that nation and its rules and is technically a bank.

Wise does not claim to be a bank and isn't a bank. They expressly state that in their FAQ

Wise is not a bank. It does not have a bank license. Wise is an electronic money transmitter. It doesn’t matter what you think, the fact is Wise is not a bank.
