I waited three months just to be safe. I believe that’s the requirement but every embassy is a bit different. Since I was really itching to get to TH sooner I did a 6 month METV and came here to survey a few DTV schools in person. If you go this route make sure your METV is expired or canceled before you’re to re enter on DTV.

Got my DTV from Vientiane embassy via TSL Chiang Mai. Took two weeks. Waiting in Laos was the worst part.

i honestly don’t know what branch because they opened accounts for us at a student orientation meeting for Payap University when k studied there. It wasn’t a lot of money, maybe like 2-300 US dollars. And the account had been otherwise inactive for 4 years. But I assumed having the cash in there would keep it open. I moved back last year only to find out it was closed when I asked the branch at central festival.

I also had my Bangkok bank account closed too but I understand that one because someone else had opened it for me almost 15 years ago and used their phone number

Yes and they closed my account. Payap opened it for me years ago when I was on ED visa. I never got my money back either.

Dude use your GI bill at Payap university in chiang mai. They’ll give you an ED visa and open a bank account for you. You’ll also collect the ~$2,000+ per month housing allowance.

I’m in the same boat. Applied on the 24th of Nov, my interview is Dec 8th. I asked them if I could move up the interview because I already had my return flight scheduled as my soft power school instructed me that it would only take a week. They said no and to adhere to the interview time I was given. I wish I hadn’t listened to the school and went to Tapei as I had originally planned. Stuck here for the rest of the week.
