I dare you try to argue or show this same attitude at your embassy here the same way you argue with Thai officers. Or try this in other first world countries. Sorry but I find this an act of self-entitlement.
try reading your own government immigration website. I know coz I’ve applied for a USA visa before. I’ve even entered one of your overseas missions. USA treats non-Americans as criminals or terrorists. They are even hard to their own citizens.
I am not wrong to say you have no right to decide. They gave you CHANCE to stay. It’s not a RIGHT. Maybe you can check your own USA immigration website if foreigner has a RIGHT for themselves. In reality, you don’t have the RIGHT. You are BEGGING for entry in foreign territories. Stop pretending you don’t know this.
FYI, anywhere you go in the world, it’s not YOU who decide whether you can stay in a foreign country or not. Even if it’s stated in their website or office, or anywhere, the decision lies to the person deciding for your stay. You showed some “I know” attitude to them. They can actually call the police and your embassy. You can be deported. Don’t ever think that this is just Thailand and because you are from the USA.
Maybe you don’t KNOW how even more complicated and scary talking to your own USA embassies or consulate. Worst is getting a US visa. So be thankful you can even enter Thailand with a visa exemption. Thai people cannot even go to the US easily.
