TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a tourist visa to Thailand, if you're planning to backpack and haven't booked all your accommodations, it's recommended to list your first night's stay at a hotel or hostel. Many travelers have successfully put just the accommodation for their first week or a SHA+ approved hotel upon arrival, as the overall accommodation plans can be flexible and booked as you go. It's important to note that there are minimal checks on this information.

4 of us came in a few days ago. Only had the 1 night test and go hotel booked. We all got asked where we stay after that. Just pointed to hotel. Some got hassled more but we all got through ok

I only uploaded my first week's hotel stay and it got approved :) for reference I'm from the UK and I got the 60 day tourist visa (as I think requirements differ slightly depending on the country you are coming from)

What's the cheapest SHA+ for test and go people have found here ? For one night I've found 3,900 as the lowest!

I’m planning on booking as I go and I just put my sha ++hotel (coming on the sandbox scheme) and got approved 😊 so I’d just say put your first accommodation for the first week or something xx

You put in where you are going after you land in Thailand. You can basically put anything on there as there are no controls of that little note and you (or your hotel) has to register you staying wherever you're staying every time you move.

Backpacking is not really an option at the moment! Most cheap hostels are closed! Specially on the island.
I have but I’m planning on staying for 6 weeks so I’ve only sorted out the first week so was only asking if I would need to book all my accommodation in advance…
