I am coming to Phuket next week for an exploratory trip. I will confirm all the above with Phuket immigration office before coming again next September to settle in Thailand.

- Then I enter Thailand and at 60 days I apply for the 1 year (retired) extension. Correct?

- I am coming next week to Phuket for an exploratory trip. I will go to immigration and ask about the 800k deposit.

I hope 1 deposit for both is enough.

I went to Thai embassy twice to get TR visa. They are VERY picky about the requirements. I got turned away because I am staying with family in Bangkok and need a bunch of documents. They even ask birth cert. of my daughter... Must have return ticket also. I have MM2H visa in Malaysia. my understanding is that they do not provide TR visa unless you are resident in Malaysia. In any case they are not cooperative at all...
