Every branch every town, city, province make up their own rules, it is beyond bonkers. I find it useful to ask them to show you the regulation in their policies and at the same time be calling their customer services and repeat whatever bizarre rule they are trying to tell you. They more often than not will back down and say ok. Today I am here in my branch, no yellow book asked for. I signed the copies of the same documents I have signed maybe 20 times before. Passport, visa, tm30,(not this time), thai driving licences and then they asked me where my income comes from, I have some rental income from the UK and my brother repaying a loan from me at £250/month. No proof, or evidence just my word. CRAZY SHIT MAN.

every bank in the world faces the same issues of money laundering, scams, fraud and mule accounts, but only 1 has behaved like Bangkok Bank, and even they cannot explain themselves. I have done nothing wrong, broken no rules and nobody can show any reason why there may be any cause for suspicion, so clearly locking my account is not sticking to international standards which is what Bangkok Bank claim is their goal. So, they failed that one.

I verified my id for 12 month old account 3 months ago, so apart from breaking international banking standards, what purpose does locking my account yesterday serve anyone, and if the staff at the branch and staff at customer services do not know why my account needs to be locked and I have now to verify my identity a 4th time, then who on this earth does know? Needless to say, I will withdraw all funds to a different bank as soon as they grant me access to MY funds, and then seek legal advice on any action I can take against the World's Worst Bank.

Bangkok Bank is not a Bank, it is does not have any clue how to operate as a bank, starting with communicating to their customers each time they take some bizarre draconian action and potentially cause serious levels of inconvenience, expense and harm to customers, some of whom may be vulnerable. They could even cause death from some of the things they have done. I urge everyone to boycott them. Close your accounts and bank elsewhere.
