we specialise in placement of teachers and were under the same impression. However the dept labour are now insisting on us providing TEFL certificates with the paperwork even for our degree holders and we have had some declined as an Online TEFL not accepted. We are trying to pinpoint the rules however it seems to be different depending on the province our teachers are in ! So any official link etc saying TEFL not required would help us please !

I would not think so. In-class practical TEFL teaching certification is becoming more compulsory and Online Tefls being rejected frequently but not always. I havent heard about the Culture certificate. Has this happened ? Please keep us posted

Never work on a Tourist Visa this is totally illegal. Anyone offering guaranteed employment upon completion must provide a working Visa and work permit

To be honest it is really not the greatest town and the hotels are shabby and pretty dirty. Dont expect much at all. Most people stay at the Diamond which is within walking distance to the consulate. It's just a Visa run so a bed and a bathroom all they need really

Kota Bahru in Malaysia also requires the police clearances. We did ours this month along with a few others and it is a standard requirement there too

Multiple is strictly for company Directors. I unfortunately do not know the cost of this as when i enquired last week in Kota Bharu they said no multiple entry visas for employees of any sort. I am just a teacher in Thailand.

300 MRM or 3000 THB you can pay either as long as you pay cash at the consulate
