Is a Thai Culture certificate necessary for renewing a work permit for teaching in Thailand?
I need advice please. Is it compulsory to have a Thai Culture certificate to be able to renew a work permit for teaching in Thailand?
Answer summary
The Thai Culture certificate is not compulsory for renewing a work permit for teaching in Thailand. While the culture training may have been included in some TEFL courses conducted in Thailand, it is not currently a requirement for work permit renewal. However, regulations may evolve, so it is advisable to stay informed about any potential changes.

... Thai culture training is normally included in TEFL training done in Thailand, but no, not required for renewing a work permit, unless this too has now become a new requirement.

I did the Thai culture course 4 years ago. It was one week long and cost about 8000 baht.It was needed to obtain a teacher's licence from Khrusupa but I don't think it was needed for the WP.

The Thai Culture Course is totally different to a couple of lessons on a TEFL course. It was run by the government, not TEFL providers.

They no longer run the course, so the answer is 100% no.

I would not think so. In-class practical TEFL teaching certification is becoming more compulsory and Online Tefls being rejected frequently but not always. I havent heard about the Culture certificate. Has this happened ? Please keep us posted
