Hi can anyone advise the possibility of crossing the boarder from Hatyai to Malaysia and returning the same day just to get another 30 x days as this is all I need. I am travelling to Vietnam beginning of April but going off a Non B visa so I don't have the opportunity to extend as apparently Non Bs cannot be extended. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the feasibility of crossing the border from Hatyai to Malaysia and back on the same day to obtain an additional 30 days on a Non-B visa. The user is in need of advice regarding this process, including the required proof of funds and the potential for complications at the border. Community responses suggest that it is generally manageable, as long as the user does not already have two 30-day land visa exempt entries this year, and highlights the importance of carrying adequate cash for border entry.
Thank you so much for such awesome advice and so fast !! I presume we can get down to the boarder and hop in a van across and back ? Hope so. Will carry the cash and the flight proof
You can get a bus or van from Hat Yai to Pedang Basar border crossing then take a motorbike taxi to the Malaysian side and back it’s 50 baht for the bike taxi.
Does this apply for any passport? I'm British and partner South African. We both have the funds in cash. This is no problem. Also proof of our onward flight out of Thailand
the southern borders are notorious for asking for proof of funds (20K baht in cash) when people bounce out and back in at them. Be prepared and you should be okay.
in theory but there are reports where they were asking for 20K baht or the equivalent at the southern borders and at the international airports. So I'd go with 20K..
