Firstly he should probably start to do his own research if he is old enough to be in Phuket ! Why would you be doing this for him ?!

It's very clear that you would have to do that !! Not enough research before you went ! African passports of any kind often have different rules with regards to visas

the specific focus is on DTV nothing to do with retirees 🤣. They have long term visas which requires a Thai bank account. DTV doesn't !

ask the bank 😂. You can transfer from a foreign account into a Thai bank account easily! That's not an issue ! Trust me the banks won't care how you pay your landlord. You can do an international transfer. You can also draw cash at any ATM and deposit it into your landlords account. Many solutions.

Well DTV visa you are not meant to be earning money within Thailand so you should not need a Thai bank account ! LOL It makes perfect sense actually! Also, don't be so sure you can get a bank account with a visa on arrival ~ it is not common and it "costs" a lot to get it done through an agency! No bank manager is going to feel the need to give you a Thai bank account when you are meant to be banking abroad because you are working remotely!
