As far as I know you have to get permission from your employer and it has to be officially added onto your existing work permit with both employers in agreement

well then noone can help him anyway !!! He would know that if he had done his research! He needs a minimum of 21 days left on any current visa to process any new visa. He's going to have to leave and come back and then start worrying!
