Hy guys if you are fr9m South Africa and want to do a DTV visa in Jakarta, Indonesia. You will waste you money and time. Me and my wife just came back from the Royal Thai Embassy. They said because we have South African Passports we need to stay in Jakarta for 6 weeks while they keep our passports then only we can apply here for the DTV visa. We are heading back to Bangkok tomorrow.

I'm in Thailand and I want to go to South Africa instead. For clean air, good weather, real scenery and endless adventures, not just mediocre beaches and malls like here. Genuinely interested why would SA folks prefer Thailand, if you don't mind sharing?

Sorry bro. No one with any sympathy for an African passport. I travelled for a while on a Zim passport before I ditched it for a UK pp. suddenly doors opened. It’s a tough game out there. Learn their rules and find a way thru.

Seems like Africa for now. But also note it is one girl and a line around the block. If you don’t arrive 7-8am you might not get in. People were turned away at 11:30am (who arrived at 9:30). Then if a document is wrong, see you tomorrow. I would choose Taiwan or Malaysia if I did again, someone said Malaysia does same day. Or Vietnam and apply online and go have an awesome week in danang.John *******
