It tends to be around 4 days for larger sums. It is a bit annoying because I have gotten that "it should arrive in seconds" prompt followed by "4 days to complete transfer" after I have already initiated it. So yeah... Wise is not accurate in this way unless it is with smaller amounts
Also, you don't necessarily need an agent. It is pretty straightforward to get a visa on your own. If you have further questions about this please let me know as the people in this group were so helpful to me when I first moved to Thailand over a year ago
This will help explain the differences in visas. I preferred getting the non-o in country because it didn't come with the insurance requirement and since I was on a deadline didn't have time to get the certificate of good conduct requirement for the non-OA from my city of New York since it had a 4 month lead time to get it.
As an American citizen only a Non-OA is available from applying in the US. Non-o is only available in Thailand. Not sure how so many can be wrong about this.
Hi there. You mean you are coming on a non-OA, right? Non-o is issued in country only. For the bank account that was the hardest part for me to take care of on my own here in Bangkok. The rest was not bad so your plan sounds fine. If your friend is on a 30 day visa exempt stamp then no issue with the 29 days.
I use Wise. Remember to select “funds for long stay in Thailand” if you plan on using it for a long stay visa or the transfer may not be valid on your application as the funds must show origin from outside of the country.
