Can I stay out of Thailand for 4 months on a non-O retirement visa extension with a re-entry permit?

Hello group hive mind. I am on a one year extension for my non-O retirement visa having completed my first 90 day report. I have to go back to the USA for some months and I am wondering if there are issues with length of stay being out of Thailand on the non-O extension. I do have a reentry stamp already. For instance if I have to be away for 4 months and return before my one year extension ends are there issues with this? Also, I take it the 90 day reporting time restarts upon entry, correct? Thank you wise minds of this group!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a re-entry permit for your non-O retirement visa extension, you can stay out of Thailand for up to 4 months, but you must return before your extension expires. The 90-day reporting requirement resets upon your re-entry, starting the count anew from day one upon returning to Thailand.

apparently, you need to return into Thailand 7 days before it expires...

I would certainly double check this info tho...

As long as you have a re-entry permit, the only thing you need to worry about is the end date of your extension. You will want to re-enter Thailand and apply for your next extension before that date.

A TM-47 (90 day report) is for a foreigner to report when they've been in Thailand for 90 consecutive days. You're not in Thailand when you leave so TM-47 is not relevant to you. When you return to Thailand your counting for 90 day report starts back again at day 1 because it's only 90 day consecutive days in Thailand.
