I wanted to give a thanks to everyone here in giving advice towards getting my Non-Immigrant O visa with out needing to get an agent. It was actually not so bad going through Bangkok Immigration the other day (the folks at Thai Immigration were all really nice and helpful!) and I don't think I could have done it myself with out the advice from many in this group. This is hands down the best visa (and everything!) group since the others I had been in the admins would delete just about every post and were so weird about moderating a lot of questions. Thanks all! Now to the next hurdle... the year long extension!

I've had no problems in the "other visa group" we both know which one you are referring to, I know it's hard for some, but you ask the question with some thought keep it focused and you get very precise answers back. And very promptly. What some people don't understand is it's precise and allows that group's questions to become a useful searchable database also. without some wingnut adding other irrelevant questions or the threads full of novices trying to answer. it works.

hey sure I can only speak of my experience with doing this in Bangkok as each location is a bit different. If you want to message me directly I can go over things with you if you have questions or right maybe it would be a good idea to just post it in a message threat separately incase someone finds themself in the same situation

Agree about the other sites. They don’t like those who do it themselves. They are acting for the agents and those who don’t follow the rules. They are, in short, corrupt.

exactly that is what I found and felt happy to leave those groups and find this one (actually it was recommended to me by the woman who rented me the apartment I am in now)

well done. I also secured new non-o in country after a bit of a struggle. The other sites suggested it was impossible, use an agent etc. When I posted to say how I had succeeded, they criticised me for being aggressive then blocked me. Oh well….

Well done. If you thought that was easy you'll find doing the yearly extension even easier. For a start you won't have to go through the process of proving your address again because the info is now on the computer system.
