Never been asked for proof of funds or hotel.

But I have been asked for departure ticket proof.

When we last arrived into bangkok I was asked for my boarding pass from arriving flight (first time)and proof of departure ticket out of Thailand( also first time).I had no overstays in my travels to Thailand as a sidebar.

One trick is to go up to departures level and grab a taxi there. Make sure they use their meter. But the drawback on that is the taxi's at arrivals have been vetted and the ones at departures have not been.

sir I think we have discussed this before. But what if I say for example just say frig the 90 day reporting and just do the yearly report in and pY the 2000 baht fine each year. Will that catch up with me in the end with the tighter rules. Just a question to reiterate a point not suggesting one should do this and want your opinion.

Last time I arrived I was asked for departure flight information by immigration. It was a first.

A question...if the 90 day reports are ignored and just go in for the yearly report and pay the fine of not reporting quarterly is that frowned apon?

@Benjamin *****
I was wondering as well why it is ill-advised....

Whats the point to get a hotel? You have to go there check in and then check out in 8 hours to be back in time?
