Travelling around Thailand unvaccinated is a pain. Repeated covid tests, always running the risk of testing positive and off to hospitel/hospital together with a significant bill.

Do I need to file a TM-30 for my hotel stay in Pattaya and when I return to Bangkok?

I would resubmit a TM30 after your visit to Pattaya.

I didn't and when I went to extend my visa at CW they pulled me on it and asked me to come back once submitted.

NB I asked the hotel when in Pattaya, they said they wouldn't submit a TM30 for a one night stay, but they did...

Depends where you are flying via and to... 72 hrs, 48 hrs or no longer required. Ask your airline

A big deal? Yes, if you test positive, be prepared for 10 days hotel quarantine.

Take a self test first and you can plan ahead, extend hotel, change flights, extend visa etc...

Doesn't finish for many people until they pass their final PCR before departure, depending on their airline and home country. An unexpected 10 days quarantine at the end of a 30 day holiday, on a 30 day visa, with work expecting you back, can cause all kinds of problems...

Don't forget to plan your return to Australia and beware of the consequences of testing positive before your return flight, a 10-day quarantine is required followed by a further 7 days in the country, before you can fly with Qantas etc...
