Hi, I went to immigration in the city where I live they said I can do my non b with them again as I have done it with them before. Foreigners which have not done it with them will have to do it out of Thailand. Best to check with your local immigration office

yes, I heard about Malaysia's waiting period for visas. I'm thinking Laos if I need to leave the country. I don't want to go back to SA to get it done as I will go back to SA on holiday in Oct (2 x return tickets myself&wife - costs quite a bit), when I leave Thailand (to SA) I want to have my non b already so that I just get a re-entry stamp.

if your reason is Canada is too cold you might be surprised. Thailand is too hot. Im here for 2 years already. Coming from Canada you might find it harder than most people to adapt to the heat
